I was quoted in an article on People.com about Covid vaccines for kids. Vaccination rates in kids are low, especially for the 5-11 age group, and kids under 5 are still waiting on a vaccine. I am incredibly disappointed that vaccines for the youngest age group haven’t been made more of a priority. Nearly one third of kids are dealing with chronic health conditions, putting them at higher risk of serious infection, and others are living with higher risk family members such as grandparents. My hope is that a vaccine for all children is available soon and that with more time and safety data, vaccine hesitant parents will see that the vaccine is safe and effective. With more people vaccinated, the risk of serious infection is reduced, and activities can be safer for everyone.
